A delegation is proper if (1) it complies with Pennsylvania's appropriate medical practice standards; (2) it is not restricted by laws regulating other health care practitioners; and (3) the medical doctor has information that the delegate has the requisite qualifications, training, experience, and continued competency to safely conduct the medical service being delegated (4) The medical doctor has determined that delegating the medical service does not pose an undue risk to the patient being treated; (5) the nature of the service and the delegation of the service have been explained to the patient, and the patient does not object to the delegation; and (6) the medical doctor assumes responsibility for the delegated medical service, including the performance of the responsibilities.
