In Oklahoma, Botox injections are considered medical procedure and must be administered by a licensed physician, a physician assistant under the guidance of a licensed physician, or a nurse practitioner if it falls within their scope of practice, national credential, population focus, and written supervision agreement with the physician.If a registered nurse (RN), licensed practical nurse (LPN), or personnel other than the professionals mentioned here are qualified to perform the procedure and meet the following criteria, the physician can assign Botox injection to them under physician supervision: [1] The physician must perform a face-to-face examination of the patient; [2] The physician must issue a prescriptive order detailing the prescription and care to be offered [3] The person performing the procedure must be educated and trained in I the anatomy and physiology of the skin surface areas to be treated; [ii] Botox signs and contraindications; [iii] possible adverse reactions and treatments; [iv] topical anesthetic agents; and [v] post procedure care and home care guidance. .
