Registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) may inject Botox if the following conditions are met: [1] the provider (physician/NP/PA) has evaluated the patient and formulated a treatment plan, which must include, but is not limited to, the injection site, dosage, post-procedure care, and potential follow-up ; [2] For the patient's protection and well-being, the practitioner must be adequately qualified in cutaneous medicine, surgery, and the administration of neuromodulators for cosmetic purposes, and [3] the RN and LPN must receive adequate training in the anatomy of the facial musculature, proper administration, potential side effects, and post operation treatment.
